カリフォルニア/リッチモンドを拠点に活動するフィリピン出身のアーティスト“D”によるプロジェクト。バンド名は彼のフェイバリットのひとつでもある、英・サラレーベルのバンド“Blueboy”のEPに由来する。元は兄とのバンド“Apple Orchard”のレコーディングの際に、バンドの方向性から離れた曲を別のプロジェクトとして追求する為にスタートした。
現在は友人たちとのコラボレーションによる、淡く・儚いドリームポップ、シューゲイズサウンドを生み出すプロジェクトへと発展し、これまでに配信でのEPの他、アルバムとして、『Imaginary Lines(2011)』、『Sleep In Symmetry(2012)』を発表している。

The name isn’t just a reference to a Blueboy EP. But much like the first line of “Stephanie”, Some Gorgeous Accident took place, well, not in Pinkneys Green of course. Maybe we could say somewhere near the Pacific? Sometime in 2006 and 2007? Perhaps even before that. It’s difficult to accurately pinpoint the band’s inception because its formation in fact, was accidental. That gorgeous happenstance resulted in a cassette EP entitled Winter In Watercolors released by one of Italy’s best kept secret tape labels, Best Kept Secret. Some Gorgeous Accident returned in early 2011 with an online single, Luminescence which 4imaginaryboys called “a fine masterpiece of shoegaze-dream pop”. A nice sign of wonderful things to come.
